I can use my gifts here

Tuesday, March 20th, 2007

I’ve been active in church for a while, so when I moved to the area I wanted to find a church home where I could use my talents. Cornerstone isn’t a place where all the “slots” are already filled by long-time members. I found it easy to fit in here and serve God in the way he has gifted me. The leadership here is open to new ideas, and many of our most innovative ministries have come from the hearts of people like me.

Cornerstone is diverse

Saturday, January 20th, 2007

Look around on any Sunday at Cornerstone, and you will see all sorts of diversity. I love the fact that we are a blend of generations, ethnicities, races, economic classes, differently abled, single parents, traditional and blended families, marrieds and singles. It’s the way church is supposed to look.

We reach out

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

I am so glad Cornerstone is involved in the community outside the church. It’s good to be a part of a congregation that has a heart for outreach, especially for those who are disadvantaged in one way or another. I have grown a lot in my faith as I have served in our overseas mission trips and local outreach programs. And it’s especially important that my children are in an environment where they can see that Christians are concerned for and do something to help the people around them.

Children are important

Tuesday, December 5th, 2006

One of the first things you notice when you’re visiting Cornerstone is all the children. This is truly a place where kids are appreciated and nurtured. I like that there is a children’s program during both of the services on a Sunday morning, and that quality nursery care is available.

Real people

Monday, November 20th, 2006

This open-minded community of people who freely admit their need for God and for one another continually draws me back to the church, embraces me, and makes me feel wanted.

A home and friends

Monday, November 20th, 2006

I was looking to have Christ in my life again, and I wanted a nondenominational place of worship. I attended my first service and realized I was home again. I have made many very dear friends here and am once again close to Jesus.

It’s family to me

Monday, November 20th, 2006

I desperately needed a family… someplace to call and feel like home, and Cornerstone’s been that place for me. God is visible in the people’s smiles, their songs and all they do. I thank God for Cornerstone, because I found a family, and most importantly found Him.

Leadership integrity

Friday, January 20th, 2006

I was previously a leader in a denominational church. When it ceased to exist, I knew I needed to find a new church home where I could make a difference for Christ. I was impressed by the willingness of Cornerstone’s pastor and leaders to listen for God’s voice and and follow where He was leading them, as well as by their ability to embrace new ideas. The integrity of the leadership here was a major factor in my decision to make Cornerstone my home. I have found my own place in leadership and really feel I am able to fulfill my own calling as part of this congregation.

A fresh perspective

Saturday, January 14th, 2006

I was looking for a church with a young, fresh feel–no stuffiness or people in the pews just because it is a Sunday. I found Cornerstone inviting, warm and always looking for a fresh perspective. The people really seem to want to be here and be a part of what the church is doing. I really appreciate the friendships, activities and biblical teaching.
