Getting Connected

We understand that many people need time to themselves when they are considering a church home, but we also know that people are looking for in friendliness and a welcoming atmosphere. At Cornerstone, we want to meet you where you are. So you can expect friendly greetings from our people on a Sunday morning, but also a respect for your personal decisionmaking process. We want to help you find the right church for you, even if it is not Cornerstone! Here are some of the services we have put in place for those new to our church.

Welcome center. On Sunday mornings, right inside the doors of Cornerstone, you’ll find a welcome center, staffed with friendly people to greet you. Feel free to ask any questions about our church that you may have! The welcome center staff also can connect you to others in the church who can help you find out more information. Be sure to stop by and say “Hello!” when you first attend.

Communication line. If you have a personal need, if you’d like to volunteer, or if you would like to receive regular information from our church, just fill out a “communication line” form on Sunday morning. This form can be found in the bulletin you receive when you enter the worship center, and also at the welcome center. It is the way we receive your contact information and a way to communicate needs or comments with the staff and leadership at Cornerstone.

Fresh Connection newcomer’s dinner. About three of four times a year Cornerstone hosts “The Fresh Connection”, an informal time to have dinner with Pastor Bruce and a few other Cornerstone people. At this dinner we hope to get to know each other better. There is a brief presentation of information about Cornerstone and a question and answer time. This is a great opportunity to get to know people in the church, especially designed for people who have been at Cornerstone for six months or less.

Heart and Soul seminar. If you’ve decided you want to make Cornerstone your church home, consider attending our Heart and Soul seminar, which we hold every few months on a Sunday morning. In three hours you will learn the ins and outs of Cornerstone–what we believe and emphasize, our history, how we govern ourselves, and how you can find your place and a role in our congregation. At the end of the seminar you will have the opportunity to become a partner, Cornerstone’s form of church membership.

The information shared at this seminar is more detailed than at the Fresh
Connection newcomer’s dinner. Heart and Soul is for people who have been attending Cornerstone for six months or longer and are considering partnering with and serving at Cornerstone.
