If you are a new visitor to Cornerstone and would like to meet our pastor and some of the “regulars” in a very informal atmosphere, stop by our large conference room immediately after church on Sunday, Feb. 19 and have “pizza with the pastor.” This is a very informal and unstructured way to meet folks, ask any questions you may have about our church and have some tasty pizza too. No need to register for this event, just stop by after the service!

You will learn the ins and outs of leading a group, with plenty of time to practice skills. We will also explore different sorts of groups we could offer at the church and help you decide which is the best kind for you to lead.
No prior group-leading experience is necessary, and you don’t have to be an expert on the Bible or theology. All you need is a desire to help people grow in their Christian faith while you grow in yours. We will ask each person in the group to help lead a new small group starting in April. For more information or to sign up, email Becky Copeland

Each year we host homeless men, women and families at our church for a week as part of Howard County’s cold weather shelter. We are partnering with Paul’s Place, a ministry in service to the Pigtown section of Baltimore. And we sponsor regular mission trips to our friends in the Red del Camino network in the Dominican Republic.

Cornerstone is organizing groups of six to get together monthly from April to September for dessert nights. We are calling it “Simply Desserts.” The purpose of these groups is to enjoy each other’s company and get to know each other better. This is not a Bible study but a social event.
Depending on who signs up, the groups will be arranged either demographically or by age. Each person will take a turn “hosting” one of the nights, and when it is their turn, and it is up to them to decide if they want to meet at their home, or out at a restaurant.
In October we will get together at the church for a wrap-up social. Please stop by the table in the Commons area this month and sign up. If you have any questions, please email Andrea DeSantis or call her at 410 869-0376.
